Speech in Noise Ability in Patients with Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPDs)

چکیده
Background: Central auditory processing disorders (CAPDs) tend to affect an individual’s ability understand speech, especially in difficult listening conditions. Objective: To study speech-in-noise (SIN) cases of central subjectively by Arabic Hearing Noise Test (A-HINT) and objectively Speech-evoked brainstem response (S-ABR) with ipsilateral noise.Patients Methods: Subjects included this will be divided into 2 groups: a control group which 30 normal hearing subjects (17 males 13 females). Their age ranged from 6 17 years. All had developmental milestones speech development. The Study (18 12 7 16 These diagnosed screening tests. Both groups were tested using HINT noise. Results: Comparison between as regards the revealed statistically significant differences noise conditions. Using S-ABR difference was found onset offset waves latency conditions also. Conclusion: Patients CAPDs have affection proved affected delayed S- ABR latencies onset- responses.

Auditory Lateralization Ability in Children with (Central) Auditory Processing Disorder
Objectives: The aim of the present study was to assess the auditory lateralization ability in children with (central) auditory processing disorder. Methods: Participants were divided in two groups: 15 children with Central Auditory Processing Disorder (8-10 years) and 80 normal children (8-11 years) from both genders with pure-tone air-conduction thresholds better than 20 dB HL bilaterally a...

متن کاملMismatch negativity in patients with (central) auditory processing disorders.
UNLABELLED Mismatch Negativity (MMN) is a long-latency auditory evoked potential that provides an objective index of discrimination skills and auditory sensorial memory. It may, therefore, be used as an electrophysiological evaluation of central auditory processing. AIM To study MMN in patients with Central Auditory Processing Disorder - CAPD. STUDY METHOD A prospective clinical study. MA...
متن کاملspatial auditory processing in children with central auditory processing disorder
background and aim: spatial hearing is one of the most important functions of binaural hearing processing that is based on detection of fine interaural time and interaural intensity difference. spatial hearing is beyond auditory localization and lateralization. it helps auditory scene analysis and target stream segregation from other simultaneous sound sources. this function is important in spe...
متن کاملCentral auditory processing disorders.
Central auditory processing is essential for the perception of speech, environmental sounds and music, and may be deranged in two ways. Lesions of the ascending auditory pathway or cortex can produce deficits. Abnormal activity of the central auditory system is becoming increasingly recognized in disorders such as tinnitus. Recent work has investigated sound processing by the unconscious brain;...
